Demonstration Program for World of Paving™ 2010
The beauty of specialist shows like World of Paving and The Hard Landscaping Show is that most everything you see as a visitor is relevant to the visitor so over and above the demonstrations that will be given by a number of exhibitors on their stands, we have created a special demo plaza at the heart of the hall where practical, hands-on demonstrations and tuition, will take place throughout both days of the show.
Whilst it's great to see a technical video on YouTube, nothing quite beats seeing things done live and having the opportunity to ask questions of both the experts conducting the demos but also the product manufacturers so at the show there will be a total of 5 demo zones with plenty to see and lots to learn.
Leading German manufacturer OPTIMAS will be demonstrating their mechanised laying and handling equipment on demo zone 4, with special emphasis on the Vacu-Pallet-Mobil, an electrically driven, tracked forklift that, as well as transporting pallets of up to 1600kg, can place slabs and kerbs using it's integrated vacuum system.
Concrete polishing continues to grow in popularity as a paving / flooring finish so the demonstration in demo zone 5 by HTC using their market leading concrete polishing equipment used in combination with special concretes from the ARTEVIA range from Lafarge Readymix Ltd is sure to be popular.
Zone 3 will feature NCC Streetscape who will demonstrating 2 different types of slurry applied jointing mortars – one ideal for patios and garden pathways, the other for streets and town centre’s and general commercial applications.
INSTARMAC produce a range of streetscape solutions and they will be demonstrating some of the products from their Ultrascape range that includes bedding mortars, primers and specialist jointing compounds.
On Zone 1, specialist mortar manufacturer STEINTEC have teamed up with expert installers GU CONTRACTS to give a masterclass in sett laying. This feature will run continuously throughout the show (we may allow them the odd break for a cup of tea!) and will show the correct way to lay and grout stone paving to withstand the rigours of any application.
